Northwest Sickle Cell Camp

NW Sickle Cell Camp was founded by the Charles Drew Sickle Cell Health Board in 1993. For the past 10 years our children have had an opportunity to experience a variety of activities such as boating, arts and crafts, bicycle riding, hiking, fishing and being outdoors under the direction of health care professionals knowledgeable about Sickle Cell Disease and treatment issues. Camp has also given our children the opportunity to develop relationships, talk about their experiences, ask questions, and learn more about Sickle Cell Disease.

Last year, Charles Drew Board decided to relinquish their nonprofit status and asked Metropolitan Seattle Sickle Cell Task Force to become the primary organization financially responsible for Northwest Sickle Call Camp.

Though camp is currently free to all campers it costs $23K to operate the summer camp program, which equates to $575 per child. Please donate through this link to PayPal and contribute to this valuable opportunity for our children.

  • Sponsor a camper for $575
  • Sponsor a craft for $500

Sickle Cell Walk

Our goal is to have at least 500 in attendance and raise at least $20,000 to support our Summer Camp and Scholarship, and Internship Program. During the walk we also hope to continue our efforts to promote healthy living by providing information booths about nutrition, dental, mental, and physical health. We believe that it is imperative that our families be leading the way in promoting health living in our communities.

  • Donations for BBQ supplies or food.
