Workforce Pathways Internship

Position: Metro Seattle Sickle Cell Task Force Summer Leadership Internship
Location: King County Area

Program Dates: August 1 – August 31, and September 11–13

Age Range: 18–25 years old
Individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) or other chronic illnesses are prioritized, but all are welcome to apply.

Commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week

Stipend: $1,500

Join a powerful team of young adults working to build community, grow as leaders, and create spaces of support and connection for individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and other disabilities.

This internship is more than a job — it is a leadership challenge focused on teamwork, advocacy, wellness, and community impact.

Interns will help support events, connect with community members, assist with youth and adult programming, and gain hands-on experience in leadership, healthcare advocacy, and community organizing.

Core Internship Challenges & Events

Interns are expected to participate in the following major program activities:

  • Odessa Brown Clinic Clinical Week — August 3–7
    Learn about community health, patient support, and clinical partnerships.

  • Stamm Camp Week — August 10–14
    Support youth activities, mentorship, and community-building experiences.

  • Patient Coalition of WA Advocacy Week — August 17–19 and/or August 25-28
    Participate in advocacy, storytelling, and leadership conversations.

  • MSSCTF Adult Retreat — August 20–23
    Help support wellness programming and community activities for adults living with SCD.

  • Sickle Cell Walk — September 11–12
    Assist with outreach, event support, and community engagement during the annual walk.
