Seattle Children's, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the Metropolitan Seattle Sickle Cell Task Force would like to formally invite you to level up your care!

Come learn how to best transition from pediatric care to adult care. You'll learn:

  • How to schedule a visit
    How to get medicine refills

  • The process for a hospital stays
    How to find patient advocacy resources and support groups

You will also tour an adult clinic and meet a sickle cell care team that treats adult patients.

Snacks will be provided.

Adult Retreat

We’re so excited to be together again for this year’s Adult Sickle Cell Retreat! This retreat is one of our favorite times of the year—a chance to rest, laugh, learn, and simply enjoy each other’s company. Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we’re honored to spend this meaningful weekend with you.

Dates: August 28–31, 2025
Location: Private house in the Madonna neighborhood, Seattle, WA

Check-In Details:

·       Thursday, August 28 at 5:00 PM – Adults 40+ only

·       Friday, August 29 at 4:00 PM – All adults 18+ with Sickle Cell

During the retreat, you can expect:

·       Educational workshops on Sickle Cell Disease, medication management, curative therapies, mental health, and overall wellness

·       Fun community outings throughout Seattle on Saturday

·       Saturday Night Party in South Lake Union featuring dancing, live music, and an open mic to kick off Sickle Cell Awareness Month—friends are welcome!

Important Notes:

·       Room sharing is required; you’ll be placed with at least one other person.

·       Please bring all medications in a secure, clearly labeled container that cannot be easily opened by others (e.g., locked pouch or combination case). Your safety and privacy are important.
