Adult Retreat
We’re so excited to be together again for this year’s Adult Sickle Cell Retreat! This retreat is one of our favorite times of the year—a chance to rest, laugh, learn, and simply enjoy each other’s company. Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we’re honored to spend this meaningful weekend with you.
Dates: August 28–31, 2025
Location: Private house in the Madonna neighborhood, Seattle, WA
Check-In Details:
· Thursday, August 28 at 5:00 PM – Adults 40+ only
· Friday, August 29 at 4:00 PM – All adults 18+ with Sickle Cell
During the retreat, you can expect:
· Educational workshops on Sickle Cell Disease, medication management, curative therapies, mental health, and overall wellness
· Fun community outings throughout Seattle on Saturday
· Saturday Night Party in South Lake Union featuring dancing, live music, and an open mic to kick off Sickle Cell Awareness Month—friends are welcome!
Important Notes:
· Room sharing is required; you’ll be placed with at least one other person.
· Please bring all medications in a secure, clearly labeled container that cannot be easily opened by others (e.g., locked pouch or combination case). Your safety and privacy are important.

Seattle to Spokane: 3 Days of connection, care and community
Join the Seattle Sickle Cell Task Force for a special 3-day weekend in Spokane filled with connection, support, and fun for the whole family. From an exciting escape room and family pizza night to a park day picnic with kickball and games—this is a chance for Sickle Cell families to come together, build relationships, and celebrate community.
Whether you’re living with Sickle Cell or supporting a loved one, all are welcome!

Chopped Challenge
You’re Invited to the Ultimate Cooking Showdown: “Chopped Challenge Live!”
Do you have what it takes to turn mystery ingredients into a mouthwatering masterpiece? Inspired by the hit TV show Chopped, we’re bringing the heat with a live culinary competition—and YOU can be a part of the action!
Form a Team & Compete:
Grab a friend (or two!) and sign up to compete in our Chopped Challenge Live. Teams will go head-to-head using surprise ingredients to whip up incredible dishes under pressure. Creativity, speed, and teamwork are your secret weapons!
Be a Judge:
Got a refined palate and a flair for food critique? Apply to be one of our official judges! You’ll sample each dish and decide who makes the cut and who gets chopped.
Join the Audience:
Not into cooking? No problem! Sign up as an audience member and cheer on your favorite team. Enjoy the energy, taste samples (if you’re lucky!), and vote for the fan favorite.

TACOMA WELLNESS DAY
We’re bringing together community, calm and connection for a day of intentional rest and joyful restoration. Hosted st the Smith’s home, this event offers space to slow down, reconnect, and share good vibes. we can’t wait to hold space for you.

MAY WELLNESS DAY
Participant in our monthly therapeutic services at the SC Hub in West Seattle, hosted by MSSCTF, available free of charge to Sickle Cell Warriors and their caregivers.




Community Art Project
Carina’s art project offers a space to share, reflect, and support one another through the act of sewing.
She gathers written heartaches, worries, and burdens that have been shared and mounts them onto fabric. In sewing circles, participants tend to these burdens through embroidery and stitching.
Carina will sew the embellished pieces together into a larger textile artwork to be exhibited at the Seattle Asian Art Museum.






Gospel Concert
This inspiring annual event, held during Black History Month, uplifts the spirit with soulful gospel music while honoring the experiences of those in our community affected by sickle cell.

Circle of Care
Join us for a virtual session introducing our "Circle of Care" program, designed to support families affected by sickle cell disease. This program helps families create a personalized sickle cell crisis plan to ensure preparedness and better care coordination during emergencies. Participating families will receive a $300 stipend for their involvement. Learn more about how this initiative can benefit your family and provide peace of mind during challenging times.
